God spoke to various people prior to the birth of his son, breaking a 400 year prophetic silence.
* Zechariah doubted, but corrected, regained his voice to speak for Him
* Mary rejoiced in being able to serve God.
* Joseph obeyed, even though it cost his reputation and probably his job in Nazareth.
* The Shepherds took steps of faith so that they could see Jesus.
* The Wise men were willing to act on the truth that they knew, even from creation, to worship Christ.
John the Baptist challenged people to hear the voice of God:
1. Expect God to hear
2. Remove the barriers to Jesus
3. Co-operate with the Holy Spirit
